The objective of the farming and gardening project is to help young men and women to fish. That means helping them with seeds to grow vegetables or food grain such as corn, millet and sorghum.
Good seeds are a bit expensive and many people can’t afford them. They resort to using seeds that are not drought or pesticides resistant and often producing less grain per hectare.
The seeds we donate to the villages can be reused. It means that after the harvest, each one will use the grain harvested to grow future plants or vegetables. We do not use the one time only hybrid seeds produced by big companies.
