The goal of our benevolent community basic healthcare service is providing over-the-counter medicine and first aid kits to the community. In the rural community we serve, there are no clinics and many people leaving with less than a dollar a day don’t bother to go clinics in nearby cities because they can’t afford to pay for prescriptions drugs.
So, we make available free of charge over the aid medicine such as ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Tylenol, aspirin, bacitracin, bengay and other ointment that can ease the pain. With the first aid kits, we teach volunteers to treat basic cuts and wounds.
We are continuously looking for in-kind donations of over-the-counter medicine and first aid kits.
During m last mission trip to Burkina Faso, an elderly lady about 75 years old approached me with a prescription for vitamins C. This bottle was less than two dollars, but she could not afford it.
