Where is Burkina Faso?

Burkina Faso, a land-locked country about the size of Colorado is in West-Africa. It’s bordered by Ghana, Mani, Niger, Togo, and the Ivory Coast. The country been going through a lot of hardship with over two million internally displace people or refugees who lost their homes and villages due to Jihadists attacks. Over a thousand schools been destroyed or closed, hundreds of churches burned down due to the jihadists onslaught. Many of the refugees (mostly women and children) are homeless in the cities. It’s a sad situation that needs many kind people to step in to help.

What do women do with the goats?

The goats produce offspring about 4-6 goats in a year when well fed and raised. During though times, women can sell some of the offspring to buy clothing, food, or even medical prescription. The goats help to empower women and give them a sense of ownership and the ability to make decisions about when and how many of the goats to sell.

What’s happen when we donate money to buy goats?

When a group or person sponsor a woman or many women by donating to empower them with goats, we have volunteers that will buy the goats. Then, women, waiting to receive goats are selected in a way that it advantages the widow, disabled and the neediest women first.
